Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery Review
Vernon, British Columbia, Canada
Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery is a family owned and operated craft distillery. They have two locations in the Okanagan Valley: a smaller one in Kelowna and a larger one in Vernon. We highly recommend the Vernon location, they have a huge German distill there which is just magnificent!
Both are open to the public for a free tour of the distillery and education on the production line. Followed by a stop at the tasting bar for $5 you get 3 samples, waived on purchase.

We went on a Saturday afternoon with two friends to check it out. They had just started a tour which meant we had about a 15 minute wait which is reasonable. We had the option to grab a cocktail at the tasting bar and sit down in the patio while we waited. However we got too distracted looking around and catching up with our friends that it slipped our mind.
When our tour commenced it was only a small group so we had the tour guide all to ourselves and were able to take some gorgeous photos. The thing that really impressed us about this distillery is that they really pride themselves on using 100% locally grown and sourced base ingredients. It really showed in the tour the amount of love and effort they put into each batch, even the production worker stopped what he was doing to answer a question for John.
After doing the tour and hearing about the distilling process we headed over to the tasting bar.
Renee loves her scotch and soda water so was keen to give that a go, however they are currently sold out. They do have some aging in barrels though so hopefully next visit.
Renee’s tastings: Family Reserve Gin, Blueberry Liquor & Aquavit (Scandinavian spirit)
John’s tastings: Essential Vodka, Prune Liquor, Brbn Corn Whiskey
Renee’s pick: Blueberry liquor – you can really taste the blueberries without the spirit being overly sweet it was fresh and delectable on the palate.
John’s pick: Prune liquor – was rather sweet but delicious for sipping. It reminded John of sipping port hence you wouldn’t want to drink a large portion in one sitting.
